Looking really good.
I'd inspect the cross member above the front fuel tank. Crud collects there and causes the cross member to rust way faster than other parts of the frame.

If the pump has failed it sounds like the motor in the pump went, not the pump itself. I don't think cavitation would cause the motor to fail. So... I don't think you did anything wrong. What size...

A 5" exhaust will not cause you to burn up a piston. Helping the engine breathe with upgraded intake and exhaust will cool it down.


Upgraded injectors = more fuel ... More fuel = more potential...

50 psi fuel idling is technically ok, but its another sign the pump is weak (or the fpr spring is worn). Most guys run 60-70 psi.

I assume by saying that you know what you are doing with ether that you've unplugged the glow plug relay.
100 rpm is the minimum speed.
I'd look into the fuel pressure issue. You should see 20 psi...
