Replacing the water pump is quite a bit of work, the whole AC, power steering bracket has to be taken off and of course the radiator, fan etc.


I like the idea of just keeping an eye on the water...

Try ether in the air box.
If it try's to start then the problem is fuel related, check the fuel pump
If it's still no, then the problem is timing, check the timing, start with the pistion at TDC...

You don't have to remove the bed, just move it back enough to remove the pump, about 10 inches.


Remove the bed bolts, remove the gas tank filler hose, take care not to stretch any wire looms,...

So if I replace the suspect used motor with a new motor, Bosch 69134, for example,
I should have a fuel pump assembly that is trustworthy.

I've had hot no start issue with my 2001 4.0L manual trans. whenever the fuel was below 1/4 tank.
Got a new fuel pump installed today.
I got the old one...
