sounds like the voltage regulator which said above, is inside the alternator by 1991. On my 81 it was on the inner fender but they relocated them to the alternator.

4.9 running cool - is this normal?

This is my 3rd 300-6 truck and it seems it runs cool similar to how my last 2 did. On this 1995 the heat gets modestly warm not hot at all and temp guage doesn't hit 1/4 mark. Plan on doing...

No more input? I've been driving the truck all day today and really like it. Planning on a used rear end and keeping it. Engine is strong to be making noise too and still hits 60 in about 10 sec lol
