I am not sure, but is the relay wired wrong? Shouldn't the battery go on the left side of the relay and the wire to the starter go on the right side of relay?

I use the Permatex Water Pump/Thermostat RTV...

I use the Permatex Water Pump/Thermostat RTV Silicone. It designed just for water pumps and seems to seal up better than other general purpose sealants.

Not the starter solenoid but the starter relay, on the firewall. The ING terminal is hot anytime the ignition is turned on. It feeds the coil.

Just a thought, did you get all the air out of the system? I always drill a 1/8" hole in the thermostat flat metal plate to allow the air out.
