That 78 is a 2WD. You can tell by how high it sits next to that Pontiac.
The smog will be the major hurdle, not the swap. Basically, you file the papers to change motive of power to diesel, then the...

I vote the 4.10s. There are gearing calculators online, so you can set it where you need it. I used one years ago that used your desired quarter mile rpm to determine best gears. The 4.10s wont be...

There's one just like that 3 miles away from me, except 4X4. Just sitting on the side of a dairy. Probably hasnt moved in 10 years.

I'd vote for the 6.6 for good power with decent mpg. With the fuel adjusted, it's not a gutless turd that most people experience. Max from the factory was 185hp.
My 2nd choice would be a Cat 3208 in...

Who got Christmas gifts for their Fords?

I have a pretty big cam, and 4bbl. After getting the calibration kit for the carb, I now get 14.5mpg (with a stock 4 spd, and 2.75 gears). Not the best gearing for hauling or city driving, but not...

I've had mine for about 5 years. Had one minor issue, the screws in throttle plates came loose. Just a month ago got the calibration kit, and it's up to 14.5 mpg on the hiway, and that's at 70-75 mph.

Thanks.
I had to use the 6AN, because there was no hose in the power steering hose catalogs that had my fitting & length combos. The Hydrobooost lines are 16mm and 18mm O-ring. The Saginaw PS box...

That was as close as I could get with pix. I was doing it by myself, and my hands were too grubby to take many pix.

I have chebbie rocker arms too(made by Sealed Power, not GM). I'm not brand specific, just going with parts that are plentiful. Besides, GM didnt make the hydrobooost, nor the power steering...

67 now has disc and hydroboost....impressive!

Instead of getting a Crown Vic fron end, I decided to keep it old skool, plus wasnt liking the idea of a long bed low rider. I got the suspension off a 75 f100, hydrobooost unit with master cyl &...

That's a super cool rig! I'm kinda close to Lodi(40 miles). I want to take it for a spin.
I wonder if I should bring my fuel adjusting tools with me. ;)

Ford 300, open header, 274 cam lope - YouTube
I vote for a 300, but built up a bit. They sound real good with a cam. It can put a hurting on a 302. A 351C, built 400, or 460 would be other choices.
