If it were my project, up here in the rust belt I'd put a fiberglass body on it and be done with the rust forever. That's the route I expect I'll eventually take with my Bronco.

I'm not 100% sure about your case, but in every instance that I know of 2WD and 4WD transmissions are not interchangeable. 2WD trannies have a tailshaft housing that supports the 2WD tailshaft with...

There have been quite a few threads about Centurion conversions on the '87 - '96 forum. Most people with experience with them say the conversions were not the highest quality. I know they talk...

Towing is the one place that I think a diesel will save you any money on fuel over a 460. If you assume 8 mpg on $2.40 / gal gas and 12 mpg on $2.90 / gal diesel, the diesel will save you about $400...

If you've got around the basic geometry problem of a leaf spring TTB then more power to you. The swing arm won't let the wheel move front-to-back but it forces it to move right-to-left as it moves...

One suggestion for applying silicone grease is to smear a little of it on the spark plugs (below the metal tip). That way as the boot slides over it will push it way from the electrical contact. If...

Dropping the speed certainly help the mileage of my '02 PowerStroke. But it wasn't due to the wind load, it was almost entirely due to engine speed. That truck had a trip computer that gave average...

Both my '02 diesel and my '97 460 were/are bone stock. The diesel had 3.73 gears, the 460 has 4.10s. Both had 4 speed automatics. At 70 the diesel got 12-13 mpg and the 460 gets about 10-11. At...

I'll agree that a COIL sprung TTB is great for going fast over rough terrain. Especially if modified well it will have more wheel travel than any other IFS system, and less unsprung weight than any...

I don't think the "Dana 44" was ever used in the F-250s. So I think it comes down to the "Dana 44HD" and the "Dana 50", with the Dana 50 being the heavy duty version.

The easiest way to tell...

That wasn't my experience. My '02 PowerStroke got decent mileage at slower speeds, but at 70 it sucked (fuel). I'm pretty sure my 460 is cheaper to drive at 70 mph than that diesel was.

They also sell really big tubes for about $2.50 (or maybe it's $4.99, I'm just guessing). Regardless, it's a WAY better deal then the "single-use" packets.
