Pivot bushings are a **** to do... just save yourself the aggravation and take the pivot arm off, all the way to the coil and radius arm (you did check the radius arm bracket for cracks, right?)....

The Rear Pinion makes a grinding noise when it's broken for a while, have you checked that the engine and transmission mounts are fine? are they properly tight?.

Yes, the bearings come with the races, SET 37 and SET 45 Timkens if memory serves, there is also a small pilot bearing which is actually the one that usually goes out first. Check the front end...

As said, any ATF is good, personally in Venezuela Ford recommended Dexron II ATF, so that's that.

Mine is a 302 (5.0) and the routing looks pretty...

Mine is a 302 (5.0) and the routing looks pretty much the same as Kris, with the thermactor (smog pump) removed. Keep the old belt in the truck, you never know when it will become handy in a pinch.
