Broken studs. Remove plastic fenderwell, Remove manifolds, Weld nuts on the exposed studs to remove them. The ones broken inside the head will need drilled or weld built up and a nut to get them out....

Motorcraft or Autolite plugs? My old 4.6 Expedition did not like Bosch plugs and would misfire 1 or 2 at a time until I changed them all back to Motorcraft plugs.

MIG welder was my tool of choice. Welded nuts on the exposed studs and built up weld and then a nut on the ones in the head.

My 2000 has a round plug on each side that appears to be for the factory lighted running boards that did not come on the truck.
