The issue I see is that a header for a van has to keep the tubes close to the block for clearance where one for a PU doesn't necessary have to be as tight.

So if he has a 5.8L he will be OK, but if a 5.0L you are as always correct.

The pass. side exhaust manifold on my '88 van also has a crack in it. It doesn't leak so I haven't done anything about it. You can get replacement manifolds or go with either short or LT headers....
