The blinking OD light means something is wrong....

The blinking OD light means something is wrong. The only way to know what's wrong is to get the codes read. The codes will stay in memory for about a month after the last time the light blinked.

Find someone that has a Ford specific code reader...

Find someone that has a Ford specific code reader and have them read the codes. Autozone CANNOT do that. It takes a good independent shop or a Ford dealer.

If the trans is healthy, and if the tech doesn't screw up something new fluid can only extend the life of the transmission. If the trans has damage and is about the fail new fluid won't repair it.

And has anyone considered that the air around the trans pan is HOT? You can't cool the trans with hot air, cooling fins tubes or not.
