A cleaner called Mean Green seems to work fairly well. Nothing degreases like Methylene Chloride but you won't find that just anywhere.

I can't remember whether I got them from the local auto parts house or from Fastenal, but I don't remember having much trouble. I think they are oil pan drain bolt washers.

Use 5/8-11 bolts 0.4 inches long with copper washers. (per Gary Lewis in answer to the same question). Worked for me.

That is exactly what my 5.0 EFI did and cleaning the IAC (idle air control) carefully according to directions, helped it a lot. Replacing the IAC is even better.

Sounds like just re-tightening and checking...

Sounds like just re-tightening and checking occasionally is sufficient. That saves me about $70 for locking bolts.

Have you checked for codes? A crudded-up IAC (Idle Air Control) has caused me problems with idle and stalling before. Carefully cleaning it helped substantially.
