OK, the NR in the serial # indicates Norfolk, Va plant. If the P in the stamping was for the paint code it would indicate that it went out as Primer (special or fleet order)

I don't think you have the whole thing there, should be a lot more numbers/letters for a '52. The M10 could indicate December 10 and the 160 could be the Build number, but that would seem a low...

Just so you know, that is NOT a 49 Truck radio, it will fit a 49-50 CAR or a 51-52 Truck. Not anywhere near as rare as one that fits the 48-50 truck which is why the previous owner most likely never...
