Check the title against the door plate, and the frame stamping. You don't want those numbers to be different!

Okay so im not familiar with the inner workings of the distributor. What is this pickup coil? Would a stock unit work fine, or should I look for something performance oriented?

oh sorry, I forgot to include that I replaced it...

oh sorry, I forgot to include that I replaced it with a new stainless steel sending unit. The old one was riddled with rust holes and did not have any filter at the end. The fuel tank is new as well.

What exactly do ladder bars do? I don't quite understand the geometry behind them and how they reduce wheel hop. Do they function like a 4 link system, but with leaf springs.

I never knew RUG transmissions had such a bad name! From what I have read they were an OD option which helps out for fuel economy, which makes sense with what NumberDummy said about oil embargos....
