You do not have to wait 3 months...you can pay off the Ford loan any time without penalty. The dealers tell you to wait 3 months so that they get their commission on the loan.

With frequent trailer towing of that weight I would get a diesel. The 6.2 with 4.30 gears can do it, but you will be needing to frequently rev at 4K or above to get the torque necessary in hills...
