I have wondered this myself--it doesn't sound terribly more difficult than tooling up with the old bed, and it's far better looking.

Welcome to the forum, Dan. Nice to see another 62 in the mix--I've got a "wrong bed" slick of the same vintage.

Not sure what 4-speed you have, but if 1st is a stump-puller, starting from second is the norm.

Assuming the floor and firewall are sound (no rust through), close up any openings as best you can...

The advice on cleaning up the connections is sound, but may not resolve the flickering dash lights. If all else is working, chances are the variable resistor in the headlight switch (that dims and...

I would definitely replace the hot lead to the solenoid, though if the engine is trying to fire, sounds like it's spinning fast enough. Fixing the ballast bypass was a good catch.

I would follow...

Sounds like you got the wrong CVR--there should only be two terminals. I've replaced this item on my F-100 and my 64 Thunderbird and they both were the same.

If you have some kind of test rig, you...
