Mine was doing the same thing, just not as many no starts. The most I would ever get was 1. Then, it would really have to work to get up to idle. I'd keep my foot on the gas to keep RPMs up around...

Interestingly, it looks like both transfer cases failed at the same spot. I wonder if that's due to what failed internally, or if that point is just the path of least resistance?

Thats what I'm worried about, which is why I asked here before. I have the right socket, but the current cap is too stripped around the nut. It still seals fine though, so I'm not worried about it...

Oil Filter Cap

The previous owner apparently didn't have a large enough socket to remove the cap, so used either channel locks or a pipe wrench to unscrew it. The top is stripped pretty much round as a result, so...

With my 2000 v10, the most I ever got (stock) was 14-15mpg. That was on a good day, no wind, no traffic, etc. most days it was only about 12-13. And about half that in the city.

I like the extra space with seats that fold up, and seatbacks that fold down and probably a little more storage behind the seat than a regular/super cab. Plus my whole family can ride in a crew cab...
