We don't do ethanol in Cali but there are additives (maybe ethanol) as well as age that could do that.
Curious about the heat part of the equation though.

You know Mike, those pictures just reminded me of what my grandfather used to do for Bechtel Corp.
He was a foreman for some big cookers like that.

Efficiency is the key.
You have to mash on the pedal harder to get things moving with an inefficient engine.
For instance, I'm getting almost the same mileage now with a 441...
