Almost a full can of PB Blaster and repeated...

Almost a full can of PB Blaster and repeated beating on the back side of the caliper brackets with an 8 lb sledge hammer. Three days and a couple blisters later they're off. Twas not fun!

I got them off finally. I ruined the caliper brackets (actually broke one) but I don't need those anyway. Man what a nightmare that was. I'm so glad that's over with.

Question Help - spindle removal

I picked up a front Dana 44HD because I needed a spindle. Well it has been sitting for some time and the spindles don't want to come off. So whats the secret to get them off?

Thanks for the reply. I saw those spindles on eBay and am watching them. I can get the whole Chevy front end for that so I just need to find out if the spindles will work for me.

Since I need a new spindle would one from a Dana 44HD that came off of a Chevy work? I know where a front end complete with hubs...

My shaft is like the one in the first pic, not the second. I have no rag joint. I mated the new column to the shaft that was already in my truck that has no rag joint.

The column is a 78-79 tilt column. My truck has a one piece shaft with a yoke. The shaft looks to be a 6DTZ-3B676-B.
