Talking Most anything OK for size, but:

It is possible that depending on the carb, the idle circuits were too small to feed all those 534 inches. In that case, you'd have to crank the throttle open and "idle" partly on the main circuit,...

Kodiak5er,
I've had 2 of these SpaceKom MPG meters in the 1970s-80s. One was a black gauge with red and black buttons. The second had chrome-looking silver buttons. Neither of them work any more....

Smile 351m/400

The INTAKE I used was the Performer 400 EGR #3771 (4v intake)
They also sell a spacer that adapts the Ford EGR valve and also adapts to a 2v carb if you ever need that for smog but it sounds like...

Smile 429tj, 429cj, 429scj

First there was a 429-2v, don't see many of them, I've only seen 1 or 2.
Rated at 320hp, actual I think was about 280hp.
I don't know if that was called a Thunderjet or not.

All the base...

Red face How bout 400hp?

The year of the Merc matters - our 69 was pretty strong bone stock and surprised many Chevelles in its day even some 396 cars. But then they got heavier, and as noted the 72 heads were turkeys.

Smile 351m / 400m

It's either a 351m or 400m, these are a "Cleveland" with a 1.1" higher deck.
They share the 429/460 bellhousing so that swap is "fairly" easy.
I don't think you can tell a 351m from a 400m from the...

I just caught the end of it.
They said "in its day the 460 made 215hp" then gave their best pull as
493 Torque at 3400
378 Power at 4700
$2300 invested

To be fair, the 215hp factory was net...

I agree about the Blue Thunder intake, it would work as well as the Edel RPM and you might want the carb in the right spot given that your car wants a shaker. (I bought my first shaker complete for...
