No small diesel engine, no updated transmission...

No small diesel engine, no updated transmission and a new 2.7 EB that gets 1 mpg better than it's big brother. That's hardly a recipe to win anything.

I disagree. Ford should have scraped the 2.7EB seeing as it only gets 1 mpg better than it's big brother.

Why would anyone want the little 2.7 EB over the 3.5 EB?
The 5.0 is here to stay for...

We'll see when people actually own them. Most people who buy trucks don't buy them for mileage although the new ratings look nice. I have a hard time seeing why anyone would want the smaller EB...

It will be fine as long as you don't need to tow or haul much weight with it. It will be severely underpowered if people try to use it like the 3.5 EB and the mileage will suffer.

2015 F 150 towing stability

Do you think the 2015 F 150 will be a much less efficient tow vehicle as the Super Crew will be 700 lbs lighter? Having a much lighter vehicle might not be the best thing to stabilize tow loads.

Thanks for the info. We have test driven the 6.7's on a few occasions and they really are a nice truck overall. It would be perfect for our needs. I'm wondering what the 2015-2016 upgrades with the...

6.7 HPFP issues

I've never owned a diesel and I'm thinking about buying one to tow our future travel trailer.

I have several friends with older Ford diesels(7.3's, 6.0's & 6.4's) and they have never had issues...

That's a nice looking truck. We'll have to see about the aluminum body. Did they correct the drivetrain vibration and IC issues or will those be carried over to the 2015 Model F150?

There is no fix for this issue(Yet). The new IC and flash did nothing to address the issue.
Ford is hopefully working on it and hopefully gets it fixed before there's a huge recall.

I think the above said Baby diesel will be too small and underpowered for the heavy F150. Now a 5.0 diesel or 5.0 ecoboost once they get the IC issues figured out might be a better move.
