Check with offenhauser... they have some pretty sweet intakes for the 300. you may find what you are looking for or even a better starting point than scratch.

The 390 will run like a raped ape with stock bottom end components. i ran one for a long time before stepping up to a 427.

D3 components are great for a decent street engine. check the crank...

my dad had a bunch of that stuff from the 80s in his garage. He used it on our 52. He believes he ordered it from JC Whitney in bulk and had to trim it to fit.

small update

spent a little time on the old truck working on some driveability issues and throwing a tune up at her. got to spend a little time with my boy getting greasey.... momma was not so happy.
