The error with the Ford dealers look up is that it says the gray one fits trucks after 1994 and that is wrong.
This is the first time I have heard of any place trying to sell a black one for a 1993...

the 1992 had a 2G on the gas trucks and the diesels had an alternator with an externally mounted...

Put a jumper from either the pos (+) post of the battery, "B+" on the alternator or the "A" on the alternator an the end to the "I" on the alternator.
