You don't have to remove the bed, just move it back enough to remove the pump, about 10 inches.


Remove the bed bolts, remove the gas tank filler hose, take care not to stretch any wire looms,...

So if I replace the suspect used motor with a new motor, Bosch 69134, for example,
I should have a fuel pump assembly that is trustworthy.

That's the normal operation, motor produces more horsepower to operate the AC motor which is an additional load, needs to run at a certain speed which is not present at idle.

If you look up the price for a fuel pump, 9H307, it runs around 500.00.
So if you have to replace one every 108,000 miles it works out to around
a half penny per mile. That's how I justify it in...
