The Edge with the V6 comes with a 3500 lb towing rating and has a 4-prong plug mounted under the back bumper next to the hitch.

24 mpg highway was about what I got with my 2002 FWD V6 for 209,000 miles. Until it was driven into a utility pole. Then it got 0 mpg.

If the MT article did not include a 3.5 L Ecoboost for comparison then the test lacks context. Each testing method is unique to that test, you can't compare across different methodologies.

Good observation. My wife could make use of that feature but it seems that Ford is expanding its use. You don't want to get too close to that air bag.

Both the Escape and Edge are unibody construction. The 1st generation Escape was based on a modified Mazda 626 platform while the Edge is based on an older modified Mazda 6 platform.
