I believe the 6R is based off of the 5R, but...

I believe the 6R is based off of the 5R, but there are substantial differences. The 6R operates with six forward gears as opposed to the five-speed 5R110.

Correct. The 6.2 was never put in front of a 5R110. All 2011+ Super Duty pickups came with the 6R140.
