Yes, I'm not concerned about the bed width only the frame and I followed the link and it looks like the 100 and 250 are the same width, just not the length.

Thanks, I know the frame width isn't related to the wheelbase. I'd say he clearly cut the frame to put a shortened box on it.

Can't get a good picture of the rear of the frame because the add on bumper covers that area. I'll see if theres a work around.

Thank for your reply! My bed is 6 1/2 feet long (6' bed?). My book shows a F100 wheelbase at 110" and F250 at 118". So would that make the frame wider?

My F250 has heavier springs than the F100. My question is the frame the same as a half ton in width, # of crossmembers, length?

Thanks for that info. I had seen the lincoln page before but I was confused. The one you sent seems to point to the 368 which would be really sweet.

Well thanks for all of your input. I had a feeling it was a large truck set up but its nice to hear that from the experts!

It also has an aux gas tank mounted under the bed which looks to me like...

Engine doesn't run - has been sitting A LONG time.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to sell it as my daily driver just blew an engine and I'm going to need the money.:(

That makes sense, thanks. Any key physical traits I could spot to pin it down? Anything bad about having this trans in the truck?

And BTW, its coupled to a Lincoln V8 with an ECM id no which shows...

1956 F250 OD Trans identification

I have what appears to be a 5 speed overdrive in my F250. According to the vin this truck had a 4speed all synchro.

This trans has 6 positions, 4 speeds, reverse and one at 12:00 that says "OD"....
