Computers rarely ever fail. IAC solenoids were fairly common tho. If the engine starts and runs good but won't idle the IAC could be your problem.

I'm just suggesting why the 2 dealerships want to replace the engine. The spec for oil pressure for this engine is 25 PSI min, that is what the dealership is looking at and making their diagnoses...

I think the reason they want to replace the engine is because you have 22 PSI of oil pressure, from what I understand if it has less than 25 psi at a idle then that's when it's time for a complete...

Does anyone know if a power brake booster from a 1989 F150 will work in a 1984 F150? I have a 84 that has a vacuum leak and my buddy has a 89 booster.
