Yeah, it was 1980 when Ford went to the new VIN system, that's also when they started mounting a VIN plate on the dash at the base of the windshield.

I know the Long style won't interchange, the pressure plate bolt pattern is different. Not sure about the Borg & Beck and diaphragm though.

The chassis number is the last six digits of your VIN.
On the lever style, Ford usually used the Long style which is similar to the Borg & Beck, but the fingers are thinner.

Yup, there's a bell crank bracket that goes between the booster and the firewall. You'll also need the appropriate brake pedal.
