Yep -- I had a $25 cam that was useless at night. I how have the Ford OEM with the gradient lines for parking and it sees well all the time, day or night. It's pricey, but since I have a 2013 bed...

Most delete it as it's a constant source of oily engine bay. I haven't had it for years and although I miss the cool jet engine sound occasionally, I don't miss the messy engine.

I live in TX, so it generally doesn't get too awful cold. As long as the fluid/filter are maintained, I wouldn't worry about it. Just drive easy until the TC locks and/or oil temp comes up above...

Idling won't warm it much, if any. Mine warms up fairly quick with just driving, and I have a BTS with 6.0L cooler. Watch the trans temp with your ScanGauge -- you should see the TC lock around that...

I think my Motorcrafts are rated @ ~750 CCA. Remember, you have to run 8 ~1 ohm glow plugs for a bit, then crank the starter. I think 600 CCA might be a bit light.

Block heater won't help. Just drive it. It will keep the TC unlocked until the PCM sees it hit around 56 deg F., IIRC.

EDIT: I just checked -- it seems to be going for around $35/gal. $35 x 8 = a lot of sheckles...
