I don't plow so I may be off base here, but ....... The turning radius is a bit better on the 6l trucks and the 6l is a super cab....I can't imagine trying to clear a tight parking lot with my crew...

If they ( oil cooler rings) are original I would change them. It won't add more than 30 min to the whole project since you already have the coolant drained. An air ratchet speeds things up...

It's normal.

It called the exhaust back pressure valve and the computer commands it partially closed to assist in warming up the engine.

When you run the AC more heat heat is generated in the front of the engine compartment so the fan turns on more often.
