I'd like to do that, but I think the long lower tie rod got bent, so toe is going to be significantly out if I just make the linkage 'fit' the static suspension. The truck suddenly required some left...

They just got back to me - grounding the wire at the tank causes the dash gauge to indicate a full tank. Guess it's time for them to pull the sender out?

Check the wiring - you may not have it wired in correctly. I had to make adapter plugs for mine IIRC.

I would replace the coolant temperature sensor as a matter of course. Those things are thermocouples with finite lifespans (most believe that replacing it once a decade is good) and they're cheap...

Apparently the gauge is stuck at reading 1/4 tank no matter what the amount is if the car is on. The gauge declines to the peg when the power is off.
