Unless you do more than just head work you probably won't see any gains… if the truck is running good now replace the t-stat and call it good. Fix what's broke...

You don't need much… just about any RV style cam will work. The smaller the better for torque. I hope you have a dual plane intake...

But that 600 probably needs to be tuned. Unlike an Edelbrock that performs pretty good right out of the box I've never had a Holley that didn't perform better with some extra work....

The Lariat with the 503A preferred equipment pkg. (reg. cab) had manual windows and locks but did have cc/tilt. The PEP 507A included pwr windows and locks.

Make sure your oil filter has an anti-drain back...

Make sure your oil filter has an anti-drain back valve… a filter without one will allow the lifters to make noise for a few seconds after starting.

Could be a worn pushrod or rocker arm along with a slightly worn lifter.

If you pull the cover you can use a pry bar or large screwdriver to push against rocker arm while the engine is idling…...

Great filter set-up… use oil analysis every 10K or so and you should be able to stretch you oil changes out to 25K or more, Use a premium oil with it… and you have less engine wear.

Find the correct length springs. If you can find a real spring shop in your area you can have them build a heavier spring for you. This will have the correct length main leaf but one or two shorter...

I never used a top coat on a frame after using POR-15. I have top coated bumpers by spraying on a primer while the POR is still tacky then painting color after the primer has dried.
