If it is a temporary fix, I'd cut the terminal...

If it is a temporary fix, I'd cut the terminal end off, slide a section of heat shrink tube over it and shrink it on, put a new terminal end on and good to go.

I took my 1/2" John Deere ratchet in for warranty and recieved a lovely new John Deere brand ratchet made in Taiwan. It is a frightening trend. I guess us mercans can't make anything anymore.
