It must be in the design. My '06 F150 the A/C wasn't nearly as cold as my '95 F150 was. They used same refrigerant. It could be a difference in condensors. Maybe the older ones transferred heat...

I'll certainly give that a try. But I do have some slop on the sector shaft by the pitman arm. I checked my friend's '03 and his sector shaft has no slop. I suspect I may have some wear on the sector...

I gained 1-2 mpg towing and 3-3.5mpg highway once deleted. I only saw 2 mpg highway improvement on first tank. It improved as the PCM relearned everything. Within 3 tanks I was at 19-19.5 mpg highway...

I thought the Taurus was tube rusted thru also. But it was just the grommet. Glad you got it fixed. One wouldn't think a dipstick tube would rust thru at that age. Pay top dollar and get poor quality...

I feel the same way. Besides, the $300 core added to the price puts the bill upwards of $850 until you get your core back. That makes things extremely expensive.
