I have mine hooked to the carb and it is just fine. The only time that the booster calls for vacuum is when you hit the brakes - unless the booster is bad.

They were blue. What shade of blue, I do not know.

I prefer non-swiss cheese frame rails myself. Everything else is easy to swap and ad to the older ones.
