My thoughts exactly, if not all the gunk got out from the spark plug wells it can make the plug feel tight (even fool a torque wrench) but not seat the plug all the way.

i think the 2L Ecoboost would work great in a little truck, possibly a 4 door option as well. However I don't think Ford will do it because they have marketed the F-150 so hard.
