The caliper was binding and burnt through the pads, scored the rotor pretty bad. The shop is replacing the caliper, pads, rotor and brake line for a little...

It smells like too much friction going on. Metal-on-metal for too long.

It doesn't smell like a fluid burning. I had that when my rear pinion seal was spraying gear oil all over the exhaust....

I just bought the Ford shop manual and it looks like a pretty easy fix. Thanks to everyone who helped. After this fix, I just have to fix the blank radio display and a sticky rear wiper.

I have a 2000 Mountaineer AWD 5.0 with a faulty DPFE sensor. (as diagnosed by dealership) I'm relatively handy with tools and I was wondering if this is an easy fix....
