I have a 97 f250 HD with a 460 and I'm getting 9.3 in the city now. Have you checked for codes? Even if the light isn't on you still might have codes stored in the computer.

Not today, but last Friday. Installed new rotors, bearings and brakes. Then Saturday, I took it to go see some friends that were camping. Got 13.93 mpg for the round trip. Not bad for a 460 crewcab.
