I'm using a keyed column with stalk mounted wipers so I've got some empty holes to fill. I used standard switches as dummies. The starter push button can be repurposed to honk the parade horns.

Read the link that Ross listed above. Flat Ernie on the hamb has lots of great info. The T5 tranny is a great option for our trucks, even if you're running a late model v8. I'm very happy with mine.

No disadvantage to using one. I had to top off my radiator here and there before I installed one. Now, it's never down. Plus, you can install some cool whiskey bottle or whatever.
