Final question.
Truck was running awesome all morning, then on the way back to the office it started running like it was out of gas. I put gas in it and it ran good for 2000 feet...

The good news... Put the light springs in the distributor and made mild carb adjustments and the 77 is spinning the tires again!

MSD saves the day! Same exact wire as before, plugged into the new MSD box and distro= SUCCESS!

I know that you know this but

Buck tags were for special order vehicles. At least that was the case on the mustangs. It could be 1 small change that the new owner wanted that would require a buck tag. Marti may be able to help...

Already considered that

Changed the oil and filter before putting on the new carb and attempting to start again.
