Is there a clamp around the bottom of the air cleaner where it meets the carb? Mine has one, and you loosen that to remove the air cleaner.

I bought the replacement sender from Dennis...

I bought the replacement sender from Dennis Carpenter and used it (with a reducer) on my 48, and got the gauge working.

I would recommend it, but a couple of hours ago it suddenly stopped...
