Do be aware the new one shares nothing with the old trucks. It actually has more in common with the T6 Ranger and Toyota Hilux than it does with the old Colorado/Canyon.

Ford already tried plastic oil pans with the SuperDuty. Not sure why, but they've since switched back to sheet metal. It will be interesting to see how how things pan out for the F150.;)

Final HP/TQ, towing, and payload #'s are up.

3.5 Ecoboost unchanged at 365/420

5.0 V8 now 385hp/387 ft-lbs tq

Maximum towing is 12,200 (3.5 ecoboost)

11,100lbs max for the 5.0

Maximum payload is 3,300lbs (5.0)

The smaller Ecoboost F150 will have stop/start tech, so you can see how it is in that before deciding whether it would be a good idea on the 3.5l.

Just an FYI:

If you check the owners manual it says not to use 85 octane fuel, even in high altitude areas. Ford says to use 87 or higher.

Yes. Guys that do data logging/tuning have reported the ecoboost has an advanced knock sensing setup. It continuously adjusts timing and will, interestingly, even allow some knock as it sees fit....

Actually, Ford considered the life of the average truck to be 150,000 miles. With the new F150 they bumped that up to 225,000 miles in testing. The diesel Super duty is a bit more at 250,000 miles....
