A regular OBD-II scanner doesn't read body codes, only engine codes. Go to a tranny shop and have them plug theirs in. It might cost you $50 but it's cheaper than guessing wrong.

The vibration is probably a worn drive shaft u-joint. The stalling is likely due to a dirty/sticking IAC valve.

Thanks, been there done that. I'm leaning toward a leaking seal inside the steering gear as a possibility. But I was hoping some here experienced this and could provide some insight.
