IIRC those bellhousings also contained the usual (for a F-600)13 inch clutch. and the bak of the bell has a whatever usually fits a NP435 or Clark trans.

Mine now gets 9.5-10.0 MPG towing the Jeep & trailer @ 65MPH.
Total 20,000 weight. That is with 3.58 rear axle.

Not towing when it had the 3.70 gears @ 13,000 lbs it got 11.7MPG on a 50 mile...

For that matter If (when) you have other electrical problems on that vehicle always check your grounds.

I'd say for a F53 chassis, ford was NOT the mfg of the AC system. Ford may have shipped the chassis with a engine mounted A/C compressor but I'd bet that might be all.
