Sounds like the Altenator. Mine did the same thing last month. Had it replaced and the truck is fine now. The truck does some crazy stuff when the voltage is low. :(

The BFG Tugged Trail (18") were the OEM on my FX4. They are ok. The wear isn't too good but I had no problem last winter on slushy, snowy roads.
