if you can pull the pan, check the casting number...

2T is 360, 2U is 390

Depends on the 302 - 302HO had a different firing order than the "regular" 302, same as the 351W and 351M

From the front of the engine, the two different firing orders are:

If there's vacuum OR pressure, something is wrong with the evaporative emissions system.

Without hearing it first hand, it's going to be almost impossible to come up with a diagnosis.

If it's making noise and it doesn't change except to get louder with RPM, I doubt that it's chain...

I don't think my 2001 required synthetic in the front.

The Ford "Sterling" 10.25/10.5" rear axle REQUIRES synthetic. Synthetic for these is usually only available in xxx/140 oil. (see note below)...

The only thing I can think of is if you had a vacuum leak from that cracked intake plenum, it MIGHT have burned a valve that way. Without taking the head off, you won't know what really happened.

I doubt the tune caused it, whatever the actual problem turns out to be.

If the tune was that far off to cause any issues, you would have noticed it running like crap before anything broke or got...
