Most likely they're 3/4" holes. That's a common size that fits many different mounts.

If the mounts were overtightened or the antennas on the mounts struck anything overhead the edges of the holes...

The injectors have battery voltage on one side, and the PCM grounds the other side to open the injector. If you had a broken wire it wouldn't inject any fuel at all rather than flooding the engine.
