The intake and carb will make some difference. Proof of this is the old 60's 289. The only difference between the 2 bbl and the non Hi-Po 4 bbl motor was the intake and carb.

Wrong. Same compression, same heads, the only difference is the 4 bbl intake and carb. I'd also suspect the cam's the same as well, but I'm not 100% on that. Ford only cast two small block heads in...

The only problem I see there is there's no fuel line hose clamp. The spring is fine, may not look kosher, but if it works, it's fine. It's not like it's going to wear into the fuel nipple anytime in...

You will need to address the port mismatch then at the coolant ports in running the older heads with a newer intake. Those heads have the "L" shaped port that doesn't mate with the newer intakes...

And the best part about running a diesel is, you can "recycle" the ATF through the fuel tank :-X03 No sense in tossing it out when it can be used for fuel. Mine gets fed that and any old motor oil...

The 69-74 351W heads had the same size valves as the GT40 heads, the ports are pretty close in size too, so aside from any internal porting changes Ford did in developing the later heads, the flow...

If you're keeping this in that pickup ? No. You cannot swap in a "lumpy cam" If you're going to put it in a carbed vehicle, then yea you can do a cam swap. The block is a roller cam block, you'd be...

Also the in tank fuel screen assembly may be coming apart, that will cause a plugged inlet on occasion, thereby dropping the fuel flow and pressure. I went through this with my 99 SD F250 a couple...

And you've got what ? A C6 ? Try the E4OD, there's 3 GALLONS (the converter takes another gallon) of fluid to balance in the pan when you remove the pan bolts. ;) Hence the added drain plug I...

I just drain the pan and the torque converter plus the filter change. Should be a drain plug on your converter to do this. The water pump on my 99 7.3 went south at around 260K miles. This ain't a...

I'm not up to date on what the OD ratio is in the automatics, but if it's a .70 ratio, then that puts you at around 2000 rpms in OD at 60 mph with the 4.63 rear. You can get by with a lesser ratio...

How many miles are on this van ? I wouldn't recommend a transmission flush. That leaves a dirty filter that would get replaced in a full fluid change. And in doing a full change, installing a trans...

Just don't be surprised if the kickdown doesn''t work with the 4 bbl. Ford used different length kickdown rods for 2 vs 4 bbl carbs. Has to do with where the carb pad is located on the intake.
