Cool project, but this isn't the way to turbocharge a vehicle. With a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator, your engine is not getting any additional fuel once it gets into boost.

The no communication was probably from a bad capacitor, but the hard starting while cold could be a bad engine coolant temperature sensor.
