frame widths

The hi-boys frames are a different width. I put the bed from my 73 4x2 on a 79 4x4 and it fit right on. The 77 1/1 - 79 4x4's are the same width as all 2wd models.

I am building a 73/79 driver that will be used to tow a 20' toy hauler. I am however doing a frame off restification. Hydro-boost brakes added, rear disc conversion, overdrive trans, late model...

79 4x4 steering column build

I am building a 79 F250 4x4 and someone destroyed the column. Cut sheet metal and destroyed all but the inner shaft.

I took the column out of my 73 4x2. If I disassemble it and use the inner...

I just put the bed on my 79 F250 4x4 today and thought is wasn't down because it sat so high. Amazing what you forget in 32 years. Custom built nerf bars coming up.

I was in your boat so to speak. I wanted a 4x4 and had a nice 73 4x2. It took a long time, but I found a 79 F250 4x4 and stripped it down. Once I had built all the rolling chassis, I started...

I don't think the 351W was ever installed in our trucks. I am using one in mine though.

cross member

Here is what I built to mount the NV4500 behind my 351W. I sandwiched the frame to give some added support. I used 2x3x3/16 rect tubing with some 1/4 angle iron for the ends and c-channel for the...

While you're there

While you are at it, it may be a good time to do an upgrade and take the load off your headlight switch. Someone on here posted how to do it. I've heard the headlight switch is a good fire starter...
